Mothering Sunday message from Dr (Mrs) Eunice Okorocha

Beloved Mothers,

We are grateful that God our Heavenly Father has given us the opportunity to celebrate this Mothering Sunday of 2017. To Him alone be all the glory. Amen.

At the beginning of this year, our Lord Bishop declared that this is going to be for all of us, who look up to God, a year of Divine, Positive and Surprising Intervention. We say Amen to this, especially as we have started seeing this in our lives and in the forthcoming chosen date (6th May) for the dedication of our Cathedral (CATOL). We rejoice as we look forward to this, as well as the consecration of four new Bishops in our Cathedral a day after the dedication. May we all know God's Divine intervention in our lives, for good, in Jesus name, Amen.!!

In the Women's Ministries, our theme this year is: “Christ in you (us) the hope of glory” (Col.1:27b). We are focusing on (Living life in Christ Jesus). The key issue is: Our Personal Relationship with God through His son our Lord Jesus Christ. When Christ dwells in us and we in Him, we have the hope of glory – which is eternal life.

This means we have to ask ourselves if we have at any point in time invited Jesus into our lives or given our lives to Christ so as to obtain his salvation and to be Born Again. If we have done this, then Christ lives in us and we have the hope of glory. If you have not done this, then you have to do so, and this Mothering Sunday period could be a time you will always remember. You will be redeemed by the precious blood of our Lord Jesus, as you experience His forgiveness and turn to him in Faith.

When we take this step of Faith it will be evident by the way we live our lives in love, hope, obedience and service. It will also be seen in the way we mothers love and treat our husbands, children, other members of the house-hold, our mothers or daughters-in-laws.

It is important to remember that Salvation is not by power or by might but by God's Spirit. The Spirit of God will help us to study our Bible and pray with understanding. Moreover, it is not by our good works that we are saved, but when we have been saved, good works will follow.

Precious Mothers, let us be sure of our faith in God, “Rooted and built up in Christ (Col.2:6-7) let us be fervent in prayer for our State and Nation. It is our trust in God that will see us through the bad economic, financial and social difficulties we are passing through in this Country (Phil.4:11-13).

May God give us the grace not to compromise our faith, instead to resist the devil and he will flee from us. Let us also witness to others who do not know Christ yet. Amen.

Theme Song

Complete, complete, complete in him DC
We are complete in him.
It is not by works of righteousness but by his grace alone
It is not by works of righteousness but by his grace alone
It is not by works of righteousness but by his grace alone
O we are complete in him.

Happy Mothering Sunday to us all as we live our lives as Mothers in Christ Jesus, Amen.

Your Sister in Christ,

Signed:
