OUR BATTLE IS AGAINST SATAN - Knights’ President

Sir Gab Oduah, President of the Council of Knights of St. Christopher, Owerri Diocese, has reminded his colleagues that they were called to do battle against the devil.

He added that, as St Paul warned in Ephesians 6:12, the battle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers and against the spiritual forces of evil.

Sir Oduah said this in his presidential address/reports at the 2018 Annual Council Meeting of the Knights held at the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord (CATOL) Owerri, Imo State.

The Knights' President who spoke extensively on the theme of the meeting, “Watch and Pray” (Ephesians 6:18) noted that Jesus Christ started his mission on earth with prayer and ended it with prayer.

“Who are we not do the same when Christ himself always prayed with supplication to his father in Heaven? “he asked.

According to him, the disciples also were conscious of the importance of prayer and requested Christ to teach them how to pray.

He, however, pointed out that prayer involves holstering to God, as Samuel in the Bible did.

Sir Oduah advised his colleagues in the race for God's Kingdown that, as God's soldiers, they must always be ready for the coming of Jesus Christ and remain reputable always.

He said that in the battle against the devil which is not against flesh and blood, as St Paul had pointed out, and in view of the destruction of Christian values and the confusion that has engulfed the nation, the Knights should put on the full amour of God which included the belt of truth, the Breastplates of righteousness, the shoes of readiness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword which is the word of God, as pointed out by St. Paul.

The leader of the knights paid glowing tribute to the Bishop of Owerri Diocese, Rt Rev. Cyril C. Okorocha PhD who, he said, for nearly 20 years as their superior, has made wonderful contributions to the growth of the council, along with his wife, Dr. (Mrs) Eunice Okorocha.

According to him “this great apostle and prophet of God has over the years encouraged most of us to know God better than we did, not only by his prayers and preaching, but more by his actions very tireless”.
