Knights’ conference LOC inaugurated

The Local Organizing Committee, (L.O.C) for the 2018 Delegates Conference of the National Joint Council of Knights, (JCK) Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has been inaugurated, with Sir Levi Oguike as its Chairman, while Sir Soronnadi Unegbu serves as the Secretary.

The three Deputy Presidents of the Council- Sir Cliff Onyekuru, Sir Oliver Enwerenem, and Sir Amanze Ibekwe, are to assist the L.O.C Chairman in the supervision and co-ordination of the Central Committee, which has 14 sub committees, to take a comprehensive charge of matters related to the once-a-long-while conference.

Performing the inauguration ceremony at the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord (CATOL) Owerri, the Council President, Sir Gab Oduah, expressed confidence in the L.O.C., to discharge its responsibilities with great success, considering the quality of the members appointed into the committee.

The President charged members of the committee to rally round the Chairman and ensure that they make a difference in the planning, orgnization and the execution of work during the conference, so as to justify the approval granted to Owerri Council to host the conference, adding that, by the grace of God, we would achieve maximum results, with minimal resources in the end.

In response, the L.O.C Chairman, Sir Levi Oguike, on behalf of the committee thanked the President for considering them worthy and fit to serve in the committee.

He noted that by their appointment, a task has been put on their shoulders, praying that God would enable them to walk by the spirit, and not by sight, in the course of their work, in order to succeed.

The Chairman, who is also a Lay Canon in the Anglican Diocese of Owerri and ex Law maker posited that, "whatever you do to promote the work of God, amounts to worshipping Him", stressing the need for Knights and Ladies in the Council to be generous in their contributions towards the hosting of the conference.

He assured the President and his executive members of their commitment to deliver, as-expected.

The conference, which will take place at the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of our Lord (CATOL) Owerri, from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th November, 2018 has as its theme: Peace Be Still (Mk 4:38-39).
