The members of St. Peter’s Ang. Church, Irete Area were all joyful as they participated in a one day medical outreach organized by the Church for her members and others on Sunday 21st, October, 2018.
The Vicar and administrator of the Area, Canon Onyinyeaoma Onyeagocha had passionately declared that the church must take care of not only the spiritual needs of members, but also their health needs, because according to him, “if someone is not healthy, he cannot serve the Lord very well”
The medical outreach was thus a huge success as several free test were run, doctors attended to people and free drugs were given to everyone that prescription were written for. No person paid any money for any service rendered as the church, with support from some friends, provided every single item needed for the outreach.
Rev. Canon Onyeagocha who was very elated with the success of the programme noted that this is what a church should be doing so as to reach out to many who won’t have such opportunity of visiting the hospital. He noted the readiness of the church to support any member with more complex health challenge.
