You are Important, says Bishop Chukwuma Oparah, PhD... as he unveil his vision for the Diocese


The newly consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Chukwuma Oparah, PhD,  has declared that everyone is important in the church of God and as such, serve God Faithfully.

The bishop made this known during his enthronement service held at the Cathedral Church of Our Lord, CATOL on Monday 19th November, 2018.


Rt. Rev. Oparah, giving the sermon at the service noted that, as Christians, we are important to God, thus, we should be willing to follow peace with all men, we should show love and be forgiving.

The bishop used the opportunity to reel out some of his visions for the Diocese under his watch; "in the next decade, we will go into massive evangelism and church planting, we will target to have 200 new churches in the next decade" says Rt. Rev. Chukwuma.

He added that, the Diocese will establish a tertiary institution, strengthen all current parastatals of the Diocese. He also stated that, there will be a new befitting Diocesan secretariat erected for the Diocese.

The bishop urged every member of the Diocese, the clergy and laity to join hands together for all these visions to be achieved. He noted that the welfare of the clergy will be well taken care of while encouraging the laity to always care for their priests.



Highlights of the event was the enthronement of the Bishop to his Cathedral by the Primate's representative and Archdeacon of the Cathedral, Ven. A. C Chukwuocha.

Archbishop Caleb Maduoma, led many other bishops to the event while the governor Rochas Okorocha, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume, Traditional rulers, were among many other dignitaries present to witness the event.
