Thieves invade Church, steal sumo pump

Thieves broke into the Holy Trinity (Ang.) Church, Uratta at the weekend and stole the sumo pump used in operating the water borehole in the church premises.
Narrating his ordeal in the hands of the hoodlums to Christian Voice, the security man at the church said that the thieves broke into the premises at about 9:45pm.

According to him, he had noticed three hefty men inside the compound at that time during his routine parade and had questioned their presence in the premises.

“They said that they were there to drink water”, he told Christian Voice. When the security man approached them unsuspectingly, they blinded him with their torch light, threatening to kill him if he resisted them.

Out of fear, he escaped and called the Church teacher to alert him and the sexton.

It was, however, too late as the hoodlums had removed the pump and made away with it before the arrival of the sexton and the church teacher.

Vicar of the church, Rev. Canon Japhet Nwachukwu PhD, made an intercessory prayer for the criminals during Sunday service where he broke the news of the invasion to the congregations
