Two Archbishops may wade into Imo pensioners, govt rift

Two prominent Nigerian Archbishops Emmanuel Chukwuma of the Anglican Diocese of Enugu, in Enugu State, and Archbishop A.J.V. Obinna of Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri in Imo State may, wade in the present face-off between the Imo State pensioners and government of the state.

This disclosure was made last Tuesday by Mr Onyekaokey Udoegbunam, Project Director of Development Dynamics (DD), one of the civil rights organizations that visited the Imo pensioners to proffer solution to the present impasse.

According to Mr Udoegbunam, these two personalities are highly revered in Nigeria, and their voices on topical issues can never be ignored.

He, therefore, called on the other human rights groups in the coalition to send a delegation to these two Nigerians since their advice and counsel would go a long way to proffering solution to the problem.

Archbishop A.J.V. Obinna and Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma have severally been described by Nigerians as advocates of good governance and human rights.
