Your lifestyle tells your kind of Christian - Mama Owerre

The wife of the Anglican Bishop of Owerri, Dr. (Mrs) Eunice Okorocha, has expressed worry that many Christians who claim to be born again today do not show it in their lifestyles.

She expressed this in her address in her Presidential Address at the 27th Biennial Mothers' Union Conference of the diocese at St. John's Anglican Church, New Owerri.

Dr (Mrs.) Okorocha, fondly called Mama Owerre, stated that true and genuine born-again Christians bear fruits that please God.

To be a child of God, she said, we need to hear the Gospel, repent of our sins, confess our sins to God with all sincerity and ask God in Christ to forgive us and accept us.

The Bishop's wife, who quoted verses in the bible to buttress her points, said that a born-again Christian sees life not as a blurred, confused, meaningless mass but as something planned and purposeful, in line with the theme of the conference which is “Christ in you the hope of glory; living life in Christ Jesus”.

She emphasized that for one to make heaven, one must have a personal relationship with God in Christ, beyond being a philanthropist and donating to church.

Dr (Mrs) Okorocha used the occasion to enumerate the achievements of the Women's Ministries which included empowerment and skills acquisition programmes for young persons, Christ the Good Shepherd Centre Annex, interest-free loans to the needy, clergy wives' training, among others.
