Nwosu’s posters: govt blames ‘envious’ politicians

The Imo State Government reacted to posters of Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri, Uche Nwosu pasted along the major streets of Owerri and on the social media.

In a statement by Sam Onwuemedo, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okorocha, the government said those behind the posters are frustrated and envious politicians from the state some of them with baseless and lingering governorship ambitions. The statement, however, did not rule out any ambition of the governor's son-in-law succeeding his father-in-law.

The statement entitled “ The Unsolicited Posters of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for the 2019 Governorship” reads

“It is interesting to inform the general public especially all men and women of good tidings that we woke up in the morning of Friday, August 25, 2017, to see 2019 governorship campaign posters with the face of the amiable Chief of Staff, Government House Owerri, Chief Uche Nwosu, being pasted along the major streets of Owerri and on the social media, unsolicited.

“Having seen the posters, it is important to let Nigerians especially Imo people know that those behind this brazen acts of frustration, cowardice and envy are politicians from the state, some of them with baseless and lingering governorship ambitions. And having seen that this Uche Nwosu is too loaded in terms of creativity, ingenuity, ideas, hardwork, sincerity, and attractive leadership qualities, on their own, concluded that the young man is likely to succeed Governor Rochas Okorocha.
