Discard your filthy garments - Bishop tells Christians

Bishop Geoffrey Okorafor of the Egbu Anglican Diocese drew out a remarkable significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ when he told Christians to discard every filthy garment by abandoning every behaviour that does not give God glory.
The Bishop was speaking with reference to the fact that Jesus Christ left behind the linen and burial cloth when he rose from the dead.

In his sermon during the Easter service at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Egbu, Bishop Okorafor made specific reference to those behaviours that need to be discarded, such as adultery, betrayal, malice as well as every other work of darkness which they must shelve to embrace the light in Jesus Christ.

The Bishop challenged men to rise up to their responsibilities rather than shying away, and more importantly to take seriously information from the female folks. He noted that when Mary Magdalene bought the information to the disciples concerning the risen Jesus Christ they had taken it as one of those women's tales. On the trials they were facing, the Bishop assured that as the angel rolled off the stone from the tomb before Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James got there so would everything that was inhibiting their successes be similarly rolled away. The Bishop urged leaders at all level of governance in the country to be more sensitive to the plight of the led, maintaining that their welfare should be paramount as they fashion out their policies, adding that they should stop sermonizing on moving the economy out of recession but sincerely work out programmes that would ameliorate the sufferings and hardship in the land.
