Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan Kukah, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to shift his attention away from hypocrites in his government if he intends to have a smooth sail to a second term.
Bishop Kukah was speaking recently on the administration of President Buhari who was elected in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Known for his rhetorics, the prelate who stated that he was not in a position to access the Buhari administration, however, added that the president was “free to step forward and say he wants to run for the 2019 election” if he could look back and see what he could have done differently and as well “take his attention away from some of the hypocrites around him”.
According to him, these hypocrites “want to borrow his voice”, giving the impression that anybody who is critical of Buhari's government has a motive.
He said that it was difficult to point at any meaningful achievement of the administration, adding that the President and even some ministers are unhappy over the state of affairs as they did not imagine that they would be going through the difficulty that they are going through.
