St. David’s Hospital Medical Director loses wife





The death has occurred of Late Lady Veronica Ngozi Anyanwu, nee Ugnokaegbe, aged 64.

Until her death, Lady Anyanwu was the wife of Sir (Dr) Davidson Anyanwu, a retired Consultant Gynecologist with the Imo State Health Ministry and Medical Director of St. David's Hospital, Ikenegbu Owerri.


Lady Anyanwu died on February 4th, 2017, after she had recovered from a kidney infection, and would be buried on Thursday, March 16th after a funeral service at St. Peter's Anglican Church Amaraku, in the Isi Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

Late Lady Anyanwu had her primary education at Holy Rosary Primary School Aba, and her secondary education at Mercy High School Mbasi. She proceeded to School of Nursing and Midwifery at Ramat Specialist Hospital Umuahia (former Queen Elizabeth Hospital Umuahia), where she qualified as a midwife.

She later proceded to Imo State University where she bagged her BSC degree in Public Administration.

Late Lady Anyanwu retired from the service of Imo State Health Ministry as Director of Nursing Services in the state.

Since her demise, her husband's country home of Umueli Amaraku in the Isi Mbano L.G.A. of Imo State and their residence in Owerri, Imo State Capital have become a beehive of activities as friends, relations and sympathizers troupe to condole with the family through visits and phone calls.

Early callers included; top government functionaries, Medical Practitioners, Church Workers within and outside Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, including bishops of Owerri Diocese, Rt.Rev. C.C. Okorocha, Ikeduru, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwike, Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, The Rt. Rev. Caleb Maduoma, Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Rt. Rev. N.N. Lnyom and others.

  1. Davidson Anyanwu hospital nothing but rude,controlling, they aren't honest with patient, they drug you up on sleeping pill/ sedative medication which it is additive, and abusing it.

    the patient complain about the medication to the hospital staff they will continue giving it to them

    if the patient said they don't want medication, they have respect their wishes, this hospital forces patient under general anaesthetic against their will.

    they make decision without patient & patient family consent, the patient has no say at all
    the dr and nurse told me lie to my partner that he has emergency surgery, and have the surgery against their will

    this hospital doing experimental surgery on their patient like guinea pigs
    i have a bachelor of nursing degree I'm RN ( registered nurse ) myself

    they won't allow family members contact their patients, it has to be on their terms, starve their patient if your payment is late

    they take their of patients mobile phone , and go through the patient personal items

    this hospital is not registered to do heart surgery only cardiology clinic,
