The Project Committee Chairman Mbaise Timber and Building Materials Market, Afor Oru, Engr. Chika Ezeji has called for the co-operation and support of the traders in the relocation of the market come April 30th 2017.
He made the call when he met with them at the new market site of the old Ahiazu Mbaise Gen. Hospital premises.
Engr. Ezeji, who was the immediate past LGA TC Chairman restated Imo state government commitment to carry the traders along in the development of the market and urged them to give maximum support to the project.
The Committee Chairman said the site has been cleared and that all are set for erection of stalls, urging the timber and building materials dealers to process their forms without delay to enable them achieve target within specified period.
Speaking, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Superintendent of Police (SP) Danjuma Ragga harped on the need for synergy to realize the desired result and advised the traders to work in tandem with the committee and see the relocation as a boost to their business.
In their separate speeches, the Chairmen of the Building Materials and Timber dealers, Mr. Oliver Kabor and Mr. Isidore Nwoko, respectively appealed for adequate inter spacing between stalls, expansion of roads in the market, standard size stalls and reduction of the allocation fee, reaffirming their unalloyed support to the local and state governments as well as commitment to the new market.
Present at the meeting include, the project committee Chairman, Comrade Ephraim Odom, former Chairman Timber Dealers and Chairman of the Ogbo Osisi Relocation Committee, Sir. Julius Ezeh, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Financial Secretary Building Materials dealers, Mr. Casca lbe, Mr. Jude Opah and Mr. Boniface Obasi, respectively, General Secretary Timber dealers, Prince Dominic Nwoko, Chief Leo lbe, Mr. Desmond Keke, Mr. C. C. Ebiringa, Mr. Josephat Okoro, Mr. Gavase Ohiaege, Mr. Okechukwu Kabor and Sir. Charles Nwosu.
