Owerri Diocese to celebrate CATOL’S dedication Dec. 20 2017

A date has been fixed for the celebration of the completion of the CATOL building, which was dedicated by the Primate, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh in May this year.

The date of the celebration by the faithful in the Diocese of Owerri and their friends and well-wishers is Wednesday, 20th December, 2017.

Disclosing this at a pre-synod Diocesan Board meeting held in the Cathedral last Tuesday, the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, Rt Revd C.C. Okorocha Ph.D, noted that a week-long series of activities would culminate in the celebration, including a music fiesta with the theme: “when the Nation Sings”.

Bishop Okorocha also announced that plans were underway to organize a one- day special retreat for the various Parochial Church Committee (PCC) members in the Diocese before the end of the year.

The prelate challenged the Board-members to endeavour to keep their hands clean and to prepare to be on their knees in prayers whenever they are faced with challenges of all sorts, especially now that the nation is in trouble, adding that when this is done, God knows how to put you in a place where your enemy would not see you.

He expressed concern that Nigeria is gradually moving into a situation where a brother no longer knows his brother nor a community bothering about the existence of another community, pointing out that in times like these it behoves all of us to exercise the fear of God and try to keep our hands clean.

The Lord Bishop used the occasion to commend the Aladinma Archdeaconry for rendering some measure of assistance to some flood victims within the archdeaconry.
