Anglican fathers round off conference ... With thanksgiving and presentation of awards at St. Mark’s Orogwe

The 10th conference of the Anglican Christian Fathers' Fellowship (ACFF) of the Diocese of Owerri ended on Sunday  with a thanksgiving service at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Orogwe, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, venue of the conference.

Activities carried out include the conferment of the Distinguished Christian Father (DCF) award on deserving members in the diocese.

The conference, which kicked off on Thursday, has as its theme, “Pass it On”.

The arrival of delegates on Thursday was followed by reports from various archdeaconries in the diocese.

Addressing delegates on Thursday, the Diocesan Coordinator of the fellowship, Engr. Baldwin Onozie, encouraged the exchange of healthy and beneficial ideas among the fathers during the conference.

He thanked the Bishop, Rt. Rev. Cyril C. Okorocha PhD and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Eunice Okorocha (Mama Owerre) for the extra efforts they put in towards the sustenance of the yearly conference of the fathers.

Sir Onozie, also the Coordinator of the All Anglican Men's Association (AAMA), was particularly thrilled that Bishop Okorocha had, every year, chosen well thought out themes that suited the current happenings in the country.

Bishop Okorocha on Saturday, delivered his presidential address based on the theme, which delegates acknowledged as scholarly and well presented.

The conference also featured seminars where topics on health and social issues were discussed.

On Thursday, the Assistant Diocesan Coordinator of ACFF, Sir Barr. Austin Otuekere, presented a paper on “Economic Recession as it affects Christian Fathers” while Dr. Kingsley Ihedioha, of Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri, discussed the disease of meningitis with the fathers on Friday.

Priests from their various archdeaconries and parishes attended the conference and contributed to the spiritual rejuvenation of the fathers through bible readings, homilies, prayers and praise worship sessions.
