Bishop Godson Ukanwa of the Anglican Diocese of Isi Mbano has confirmed 15 candidates and admitted 10 men into the Anglican Christian Fathers' Fellowship (ACFF) at Ogbor and Umuozu parishes of the diocese.
At a church service to mark the confirmation and admission recently at St. Paul's (Ang.) Church Ogbor, Isiala Mbano LGA, Rt. Rev. Ukanwa (PhD) counseled Christians to carry one another's burden in the spirit of love and sacrifice, just as God sacrificed His only Son for the atonement of their sins.
The bishop said that extending the same love of God to mankind is binding on every man who must love his neighbour, the church and society.
It is a debt one owes God, he said.
Bishop Ukanwa counseled fathers to guide their families aright for peace in the church and society and stressed the need for them to love their wives as themselves as well as teach their children the ways of Christ.
He encouraged them to participate in good activities in the village.
The Archdeacon of Obolo, Ven. C. Onyemerekam PhD, assisted the bishop in celebrating the Holy Communion while Miss Vivian Chibueze read the Old Testament lesson.
The Epistle was handled by Vicar of St. Paul's Church while the Vicar of St. Peter's Umuozu read the Gospel.
The confirmation candidates recited the catechism as the bishop commended the priests and Sunday School teachers who prepared them.
