Youths threaten showdown with EEDC ... Over alleged incessant removal of Mbieri feeder at Nworieubi

Youths in Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area have threatened a showdown with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) over what they alleged to be inadequate distribution of power supply to their area.

The youths alleged that some staff of the company who live around Nworieubi, where the feeder pillar is located, do not ration power supply equitably among the communities being fed by the sub-station at Nworieubi.

Sources said that the EEDC staff only supply electricity to Mbieri area for about four hours in a week, especially when they are about to distribute their bills but go ahead to give longer periods to Nworieubi residents and environs where they live.

Besides, the EEDC staff, according to the youths, send outrageous bills to their customers resident in Mbieri, much of it estimated.

The visibly angry youths who informally massed up at a point in their community, discussing the unhealthy development, said that they would not take the injustice anymore and would react by refusing to pay EEDC Bills until the situation improves.

Efforts to reach the EEDC Feeder Manager in Owerri for comments proved abortive.
